The debate on antidepressants' effectiveness and missing studies in meta-analysis.

Comments on an article by G. B. Parker, J. Crawford and D. Hadzi-Pavlovic (see record [rid]2008-09477-002[/rid]). These authors are commended for their honest acknowledgement of the limitations of their own re-analysis of our 1998 meta-analysis (see record [rid]1998-01374-008[/rid]): i) The small number of trials included in their reanalysis is a considerable inconvenient. ii) The small number of studies included did not permit investigation of sources of the heterogeneity between trials.
