Ganancias y pérdidas de la jubilación: revisión integradora.

OBJECTIVE: to analyze the publications that addressed the theme of gains and losses of retirement. METHOD: integrative literature review, conducted in the databases: Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences, Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online, Public Medline, Google Scholar, Scientific Electronic Library Online, Virtual Health Library and Virtual Health Library on Psychology, including scientific papers published between 2003 and 2013, from the keywords: loss; retirement benefits; retirement; retired; feeling. RESULTS: 66 articles were identified, and nine of them were included in this study, where seven were Brazilian publications, one Chilean and one Spanish. The analysis of the publications proved that the gains and losses of retirement have been discussed in the light of the familial, financial, social and psychological fields. CONCLUSION: the reflection about the advantages and disadvantages of retirement has been poorly explored in literature. Therefore, there is a need to deepen the studies with regard to this issue.
