INTERVENTION: E02.831.387.875 I02.233.543 The study gathered 40 volunteers with type 2 diabetes aged up to 30‐50 years, of both sexes. Block randomization will be performed. Will be 2 groups: control group, n = 20 which receive nutrition lecture and combined exercise training group (aerobic and resistance) which also receive a lecture on nutrition plus physical training. The exercise will be conducted three times a week on alternate days for 3 months. Each workout will take about 1 hour. The combined training will involve the third minutes of aerobic exercise on a bicycle and another 30 minutes of resistance exercise. Will be eight resistance exercises involving large muscle groups such as quadriceps, femoral biceps, calves, biceps, chest, triceps and back. Will be held 3 times with 10‐12 repetitions. At the end of three months both the exercise group and the sedentary group will undergo physical evaluations again. CONDITION: C18.452.394.750.149 Diabetes Mellitus type II ; C18.452.394.750.149 PRIMARY OUTCOME: It is expected improved glycemic control, which will be checked by glycated hemoglobin. It is expected to decrease between pre and post training of approximately 1%. These results are expected after a 3‐month intervention period.; ; To assess this outcome biochemical tests involving assessment of glycated hemoglobin, fasting glucose will be performed. SECONDARY OUTCOME: Improvement of physical capacity, which is measured by oxygen consumption (peak VO2). ; It is expected after the training period an improvement of cardiorespiratory fitness which will be verified by the maximal oxygen uptake for that cardiopulmonary test will be performed. ; It is expected an increase of 1.2 ml / kg / min. after the combined physical activity program INCLUSION CRITERIA: Volunteers of both genders between 30‐65 years;Clinical diagnosis of type 2 diabetes, according to the American Diabetes Association; Clinically stable; Non‐practicing physical activity in the last six months, with sort of sedentary, according to the American Heart Association (VO2max: 30.2 ± 4 3 ml/kg/min‐1).
