To explore the factors affecting dens ity and structure of bone in SARS patient′s convalescence. The usage of corticosteroids in SARS patient′s therapy w as reviewed in case history. The antibody IgG in serum was assessed with the way s of IFA(indirect immunofluorescent antibody), the density and fabric of bone we re measured with QUS (quantitative ultrasound) on the third month after SARS pat ients discharged from hospital. Of 40 SARS patients, there were 2 osteoporosis cases, 30 bone density decrement cases. The bone density of the patients was influenced b y the factors including age, the dosage summation, and the impultional therapeut ics. The fabric and flexibility of bone were influenced by the factors including implosion therapy. There were no relations between the serum antibody IgG and t he bone quality′s variety in statistics.[Conclusion]The SARS patients have the higher prevalence rates of osteoporosis than the overall population. The transformation of bone quality wha t couldn′t be affected by the SARS virus is correlated with age, the dosage of corticosteroids.
