Application of wrist-ankle acupuncture analgesia in enhanced recovery after lumbar surgery.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the application effect of wrist-ankle acupuncture analgesia in enhanced recovery after lumbar surgery. METHODS: With the approval of the hospital ethics committee, 60 patients underwent lumbar surgery in the hospital from May 2019 to March 2020 were selected and randomly divided into two groups, each with 30 cases. The control group received routine analgesia intervention, while the observation group received wrist-ankle acupuncture analgesia. The postoperative pain degree, dosage of analgesic pump, biochemical indicators and complications were compared between the two groups. RESULTS: The VAS score at postoperative 12 h, 24 h and 36 h was lower in the observation group than in the control group（P＜0.05）. The dosage of analgesic pump at postoperative 12 h, 24 h and 36 h was lower in the observation group than that in the control group（P＜0.05）. The levels of WBC, SP and GRA were similar, and the difference was not statistically significant（P＞0.05）. The WBC, SP,and GRA levels of the observation group were lower than those of the control group 5 d after operation（P＜0.05）. The levels of biochemical indicators of the two groups of patients decreased with time. The complications included dizziness, hypotension, nausea and vomiting, the incidence of complications in the observation group was lower than that in the control group（P＞0.05）. CONCLUSION: Application of wrist-ankle acupuncture analgesia for patients with lumbar surgery can effectively alleviate the pain degree,reduce the dosage of analgesic pump,and accelerate the recovery of patients.
