OLIGONUCLEOTIDE PROBE AND DNA CHIP FOR DETECTING SARS VIRUS WITH HIGH SENSITIVITY AND SPECIFICITY

PURPOSE: An oligonucleotide probe and DNA chip for detecting SARS virus are provided, thereby cheaply and rapidly diagnosing the SARS virus with high sensitivity and specificity. CONSTITUTION: The oligonucleotide probe for diagnosis of SARS virus comprises at least one oligonucleotide selected from oligonucleotides having the nucleotide sequences of SEQ ID NO:2 to SEQ ID NO:10 and SEQ ID NO:14 to SEQ ID NO:21. The DNA chip comprises the oligonucleotide probe, wherein the oligonucleotide probe is directly arrayed in a substrate; and the substrate is made of glass and has 8 wells. The method for detecting SARS virus comprises the steps of: (a) extracting the total RNA from the sample of a SARS virus infection suspected person; (b) amplifying the total RNA using RT-PCR; and (c) hybridizing the amplified RNA with the oligonucleotide probe.
