Systematic Review and Meta Analysis of Effectiveness of Acupuncture for Ovarian Progeria

Objective To systematically evaluate the effectiveness of acupuncture in the treatment of ovarian premature aging. Methods Computer retrieval PubMed, Medline, EmBase, Chinese Journal Full Text Database, VIP Database, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database, Omni Database, Retrieval Time from each database to July 31, 2015, Collecting acupuncture to treat ovarian premature ovarian aging Machine control clinical research documentation. on the inclusion of Bias risk and quality assessment and meta analysis of the total efficiency of menstrual recovery in acupuncture treatment of ovarian premature aging, serum follicle-stimulating hormone (FSI-I), luteopoietin (LH) and estradiol (E2). Total Efficiency of Menstrual Recovery After Upuncture Treatment [RR=1.26,95% CI (1.16,1.36), P¥0.00001] and improvement of serum FSH [WMD=-6.27,95% CI (-10.56, -1.98), P=0.004] was superior to the control group of western medicine; total efficacy of menstrual recovery after acupuncture combined with western medicine [RR=1.25,95% CI (1.11,1.0002), P=0.0002) and Improvements in serum FSH [WMD=-11.71,95% CI (-20.81, -2.60), P=0.01] were better than in the control group of western medicine. 6 months after acupuncture and acupuncture combined with western medicine treatment, the total effective rate of menstrual recovery was significantly higher in patients than in the control group of western medicine [RR=2.37,95% CI (1.77,3.18), 1.77,0.001; RR= 1.58,95% CI (1.17,2.13), P=0.003] .Improvements in serum FSH, LH after 1 month of acupuncture treatment were higher than in the control group of western medicine [WMD=-13.25,95% CI (-17.89, -8.60), P → 0.0001; WMD=-7.57,95% CI (-12.04, -3.09), P =O.0009]. Conclusion Acupuncture treatment of ovarian progeria is effective for menstrual recovery and improvement of serum FSH levels in patients.
